Victorian House Plans & Folk Victorian Home Plans Collection

Victorian houses are found in the various subtypes as Queen Anne, Shingle, Richardsonian Romanesque, Folk Victorian, Second Empire, and stick. In American Architecture the above styles were popular during the last decade of Queen Victoria's reign (1860-1902). The rapid expansion of industry and the railroad lead to dramatic changes in design and construction. The technique of balloon framing and wire nails took the place of heavy timber construction. This new type of easy framing perpetuated a freedom of design allowing for a more complicated floor plan and varied massings of exterior elements. Garrell Associates has compiled this collection of house plans that marry our innovative and modern plans with the timeless exterior styles of this exciting period of American Architecture.
